Delicious, soft, and fluffy baked donuts coated in cinnamon sugar, perfect for breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup plain, non-fat yogurt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard-sized donut pan lightly with oil or butter.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, light brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the egg, plain non-fat yogurt, vegetable oil, whole milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredient mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Transfer the batter into a large resealable plastic bag, cut a ½ inch hole, and pipe into the prepared molds, filling each about ¾ full.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool for 5 minutes before removing.
  7. Mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Brush each donut with melted butter and dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Serve immediately for best freshness and flavor.

Notes

For extra sweetness, dip the donuts twice in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve warm for the best experience.
