A delightful dessert featuring flaky phyllo layers and a sweet nutty filling, drizzled with honey syrup. Perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1 cup phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, cinnamon, and sugar.
  3. Take one sheet of phyllo dough, brush it with melted butter, and layer another sheet on top. Repeat for about 5 sheets.
  4. Spread a portion of the walnut mixture over the stacked phyllo.
  5. Continue layering phyllo and walnuts until all ingredients are used, finishing with a final layer of phyllo on top.
  6. Before baking, cut the pie into squares.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. While it bakes, prepare the syrup by cooking honey, water, and lemon juice until it thickens slightly.
  9. Once the pie is done, pour the syrup over it while still hot and let it cool before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerated for a week.
