A delightful treat featuring a crunchy base layered with buttery toffee, rich chocolate, and topped with pecans.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pack of saltine crackers or graham crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and salt, bringing it to a boil while stirring continuously for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Pour the buttery concoction evenly over the arranged crackers.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5-6 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let it sit for a couple of minutes.
  7. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the surface.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped pecans generously over the chocolate layer.
  9. Allow the toffee to cool completely before breaking it into pieces.

Notes

Store leftover toffee in an airtight container for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze in plastic wrap and a freezer-safe bag for up to three months.
