Delicious bagels made with creamy cottage cheese for an added protein punch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, egg, and sugar. Stir until you form a slightly sticky dough.
  3. Divide your dough into equal pieces (approximately eight) and shape each piece into a bagel.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place each bagel onto the sheet with space in between.
  5. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top of each bagel.
  6. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before enjoying.

Notes

These bagels can be enjoyed plain or topped with cream cheese, avocado, or smoked salmon. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
