Delightful and crispy oat biscuits that melt in your mouth, perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea.

Ingredients

  • 75 g wholemeal flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 75 g porridge oats
  • 50 g caster sugar
  • 75 g butter
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan/gas 4) and line a baking tray with baking parchment.
  2. Sift the wholemeal flour into a large bowl, then add the baking powder, porridge oats, and caster sugar, mixing until combined.
  3. Melt the butter, golden syrup, and milk in a small saucepan or microwave until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  5. Spoon the mixture onto the lined baking tray, shaping them into rounds, leaving space for spreading.
  6. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow the biscuits to cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough if too soft. Feel free to customize with chocolate chips or nuts.
