Elevate your comfort food with this luxurious seafood twist on classic macaroni and cheese, featuring lobster, crab, and shrimp in a creamy cheese sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces Elbow Macaroni
  • 1 cup Lobster Meat
  • 1 cup Crab Meat
  • 1 cup Shrimp
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Gruyère Cheese
  • 3 cups Milk/Cream
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • Seasonings (salt, pepper, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Seafood: In a skillet over medium heat, melt half of the butter. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the lobster and crab meat just to warm them through, then set aside with the shrimp.
  3. Make the Roux: In a medium saucepan, melt the remaining butter over medium heat. Once melted, sprinkle in the flour, whisking continuously until the mixture turns golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Create the Cheese Sauce: Slowly pour in the milk or cream, continuing to whisk until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low, then gradually stir in the cheddar and Gruyère cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Combine Pasta and Seafood: In a large bowl, mix the cooked pasta with the cheese sauce, ensuring every elbow macaroni is coated. Gently fold in the shrimp, lobster, and crab meat, taking care not to break them apart too much.
  6. Transfer to Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Bake to Perfection: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden and bubbling. For an extra crispy top, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes at the end of cooking.
  8. Rest and Serve: Allow the dish to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
