Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Large Shrimp (Peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (Can substitute with butter)
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic (Fresh and minced)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream (Can opt for half-and-half)
  • 1/2 cup Chicken Broth or White Wine (Use broth for non-alcoholic)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (Freshly grated)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning (Customize with your choice herbs)
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika (Cayenne for spicier alternative)
  • to taste Black Pepper (Essential for seasoning)
  • to taste Salt (Sea salt recommended)
  • to taste Red Pepper Flakes (Optional for some heat)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley (Chopped)

Instructions

  1. Heat the Oils: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat until hot and shimmering.
  2. Add the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
  3. Cook the Shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet in a single layer, season with salt, black pepper, and paprika, and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Create the Creamy Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth (or white wine) into the skillet, stir to combine, and scrape any bits off the bottom of the pan.
  5. Add Cheese and Seasonings: Gradually stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, allowing the sauce to simmer on low heat for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Finish with Freshness: Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley, tasting and adjusting seasoning as necessary.
