Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until the onions are translucent.
  4. Combine the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mixed vegetables, and beef broth; cook for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Assemble the beef mixture in a baking dish and layer the mashed potatoes on top.
  6. Add shredded cheese on top if desired.
  7. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Customize the vegetables or make the filling ahead of time. For fluffier mashed potatoes, add butter and cream.
