A comforting and hearty dish, this Easy Shepherd’s Pie combines savory meat and mixed vegetables topped with creamy mashed potatoes for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Veef (or ground meat of choice)
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Sauté the aromatics: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
  3. Brown the meat: Add the Veef (or your chosen ground meat) to the skillet and cook until browned. Stir in the mixed vegetables.
  4. Thicken the mixture: Sprinkle flour over the meat and vegetable mixture, then gradually add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Spread the filling evenly in the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Top with creamy mashed potatoes, spreading evenly and creating peaks with a fork.
  7. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and crisp on top.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
