  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate eggs one at a time into the butter-sugar mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Blend in buttermilk and vanilla extract for moisture and flavor.
  5. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze wrapped tightly for up to three months.
