A comforting dish that combines spaghetti, meat sauce, and gooey cheese into a convenient pie form, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef or sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Mix the cooked spaghetti, eggs, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  6. Layer in a greased casserole dish: half of the spaghetti mixture, followed by the meat sauce, then the remaining spaghetti.
  7. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, spreading evenly across the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden.
  9. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a veggie twist, substitute meat with sautéed mushrooms, zucchini, or spinach. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to three days or frozen for three months.
