A delightful treat combining flaky puff pastry with creamy, sweet filling and fresh strawberries, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3 tablespoons Turbinado sugar or raw sugar
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gently unfold the puff pastry sheets and cut out 10 heart shapes using a cookie cutter. Arrange on the baking sheet.
  4. Spoon a dollop of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each heart, leaving a border around the edges.
  5. Top each heart with sliced fresh strawberries.
  6. Brush the edges of each heart with the beaten egg and sprinkle with Turbinado sugar.
  7. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days at room temperature or up to a week in the refrigerator. Baked pastries can also be frozen; reheat in the oven before serving.
