A nostalgic dessert with a unique blend of tart vinegar and sweet flavors, Vinegar Pie is simple yet extraordinary.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pre-baked pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, flour, and salt. Whisk together until fluffy.
  3. Slowly pour in the water and vinegar, stirring until smooth and lump-free.
  4. Add the beaten eggs, butter, and vanilla extract. Stir well to combine.
  5. Pour the filling into the pre-baked pie crust.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the filling is set and lightly golden on top.
  7. Allow the pie to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve slightly warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
