A creamy and comforting almond bread pudding, perfect for dessert or breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of stale bread, cubed
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of almond extract
  • 1/2 cup of toasted almonds, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt until smooth.
  3. Add the cubed bread to the mixture and allow it to soak for about 15 minutes, gently stirring to combine.
  4. Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with the chopped toasted almonds on top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Serve with powdered sugar, fresh berries, or a drizzle of caramel sauce. It can also be paired with coffee or dessert wine.
