  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped toffee bits
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown.
  3. Combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl.
  4. Blend in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt separately, then add to the wet ingredients.
  6. Fold in the toffee bits and optional chocolate chips.
  7. Prepare the baking sheet by dropping tablespoons of dough onto parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For chewier cookies, avoid overmixing the dough and chill before baking if needed.
