  • 500g chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup cream or coconut milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, and spices to create a marinade for the chicken. Cover and let marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until browned and fragrant, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Stir in diced tomatoes and simmer before adding cream or coconut milk. Let simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

Marinate the chicken longer for enhanced flavor. Adjust spice levels based on preference, and consider using coconut milk for a non-dairy option.
