A vibrant and flavorful dish combining tender flank steak, crunchy vegetables, and aromatic seasonings that brings warmth and comfort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (red or green)
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef marinates, slice the bell pepper and onion. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
  3. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over high heat until it shimmers.
  4. Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the hot oil in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.
  6. Add Aromatics: Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.
  7. Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  8. Serve Immediately: Transfer the sizzling mixture to a hot serving platter. Garnish with chopped green onions.
