A decadent dessert that transforms leftover croissants into a rich and chocolatey bread pudding, perfect for brunch or a midnight snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 leftover croissants, torn into pieces
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk the milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl until well combined.
  3. Arrange the torn croissant pieces in a greased baking dish and sprinkle the chocolate chips over them.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the croissants and stir gently to coat.
  5. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the custard.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown and set.
  7. Cool slightly before serving, garnishing with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Use older croissants for the best texture. You can also substitute chocolate chips for caramel or nuts.
