  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk together the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Transfer the batter to a piping bag and fill the donut pan about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Mix together the 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon for the coating.
  8. Cool the donuts slightly before coating them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a twist, add chocolate chips or fruit zest to the batter. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for a month.
