A simple yet mouthwatering appetizer combining fresh mushrooms, crispy bacon, and caramelized onions, perfect for gatherings or as a delightful snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of fresh mushrooms
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy.
  2. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the fat.
  3. Add olive oil to the skillet, followed by the diced onions. Sauté until caramelized, about 5 minutes.
  4. Cook the fresh mushrooms in the skillet until tender and golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Stir in the cooked bacon and season with salt and pepper. Toss until well combined and heated through.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, replace bacon with smoked paprika or liquid smoke for added flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
