A rich and creamy mushroom sauce that elevates your steak experience with its velvety texture and savory flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat until the butter is melted and bubbling.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until they’re browned and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and pepper. Continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and scrape up any tasty browned bits stuck to the bottom of the pan.
  5. Let everything simmer for a couple of minutes to deepen the flavors.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Let simmer, allowing it to thicken for about 5-7 minutes.
  7. If desired, stir in the Dijon mustard for a tangy twist and adjust seasoning as needed.
  8. Finish with a sprinkle of chopped parsley before serving over your perfectly cooked steak.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, add a splash of red wine when you pour in the beef broth. Use a mix of mushrooms for varying textures.
