Deliciously tender beef Birria Tacos made effortlessly in a crock pot, infused with rich spices and served with fresh toppings.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef (chuck or brisket)
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Tortillas (corn or flour)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, for squeezing

Instructions

  1. Combine beef, chopped onions, minced garlic, spices, and bay leaves in a slow cooker.
  2. Add enough water to cover the meat and stir to combine.
  3. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and falling apart.
  4. Shred the beef using two forks, and return it to the slow cooker to soak up juices.
  5. Serve the shredded beef in warm tortillas, topped with chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lime.
