Delicious and gooey cinnamon rolls, perfect for a cozy brunch or a sweet treat any day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients by adding melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add in the flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Add the toppings by spreading softened butter over the dough, and sprinkling with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  6. Roll the dough tightly and slice it into rolls.
  7. Let the rolls rise again for 30 minutes in a greased baking dish.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Prepare the glaze by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over warm rolls and enjoy!

Notes

Use warm milk for yeast activation; ensure the dough rises adequately for fluffy rolls. Experiment with toppings like nuts or dried fruits.
