Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic in olive oil until translucent.
  3. Brown the ground meat in the skillet and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Prepare cabbage leaves by boiling until tender, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Cool the leaves and pat dry.
  6. Layer the ground meat mixture and cabbage leaves in a baking dish.
  7. Cheese it up by adding shredded cheese if desired.
  8. Bind everything together by pouring beaten egg over the layers.
