A comforting and healthy baked ziti made with protein-packed cottage cheese and lean ground turkey.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz ziti pasta
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. Brown the ground turkey or chicken in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Mix the cooked ziti, cottage cheese, marinara sauce, browned meat, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  5. Transfer the ziti mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Add the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the ziti.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Flavors intensify the next day.
