A comforting and flavorful homemade lasagna featuring layers of rich marinara, creamy ricotta, and savory ground beef.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), setting the stage for the perfect bake.
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until they are al dente. Drain and set aside, letting them cool slightly.
  3. Brown the ground beef over medium heat until it’s cooked through. Drain excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce. Allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
  5. Layer in a baking dish, starting with meat sauce, noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, and a third of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers and top with remaining noodles, meat sauce, and mozzarella.
  6. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Bake covered with foil for 25 minutes. Then remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
