A quick and delightful dish of lean ground beef and vibrant broccoli in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked rice or quinoa
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic in olive oil until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for 4–5 minutes until tender.
  4. Whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes in a bowl.
  5. Pour the sauce into the skillet and let simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Spoon the mixture over cooked rice or quinoa, garnish, and serve hot.

Notes

For extra crunch, blanch the broccoli before adding it to the skillet. Use ground turkey or chicken for a healthier twist.
