A classic homemade lasagna filled with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella, sure to bring warmth to your dinner table.

Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
  7. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, add half of the ground beef, and a third of the mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat the layers: sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, ground beef, and mozzarella until you reach the top.
  9. Top with the remaining noodles, sauce, remaining mozzarella, and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  12. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can customize the dish by adding sautéed vegetables, using different cheeses, or swapping the ground beef for Italian sausage or a vegetarian mix.
