Hearty stuffed cabbage rolls filled with a savory mixture of ground meat and rice, baked in a rich tomato sauce.

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground chicken (Halal)
  • 1 cup white rice, uncooked (long-grain recommended)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef or chicken broth (Halal)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cabbage by boiling it to soften the leaves.
  2. Sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil until fragrant.
  3. Mix the filling ingredients in a large bowl until well incorporated.
  4. Assemble the cabbage rolls by filling each leaf and rolling tightly.
  5. Prepare the baking dish with tomato sauce and broth.
  6. Bake the rolls covered with foil at 350°F for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve with bread or salad.
