Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 banana peppers
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting the tops off the banana peppers and removing the seeds.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together until well combined.
  4. Dip each pepper into the egg mixture, then roll it in the flour mixture until fully covered.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry the coated banana peppers in the hot oil until they’re golden brown on all sides, about 4-5 minutes.
  7. Remove the peppers and place them on paper towels to drain off any excess oil.
  8. Serve these delicious banana peppers hot, either on a plate by themselves or alongside your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, add spices like paprika or cayenne to the dry mixture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
