  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup cooked ham, sliced
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, sliced
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (optional)
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Get three shallow dishes ready: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally transfer it to the breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook each breaded chicken breast for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Carefully place the golden chicken breasts in a baking dish and top with ham and Swiss cheese.
  8. Slide the dish into the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Serve the chicken drizzled with marinara sauce and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
