Delightful bites of cheesy, crispy pastry filled with fresh spinach, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach (chopped, finely for even distribution)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg (beaten, for the egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Unroll your thawed puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface, making sure it’s rectangular and even.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, and season with salt and pepper. Stir until everything is well-coated and mixed together.
  3. Cut the puff pastry into rectangles, about 3×4 inches. Place a generous spoonful of the cheesy spinach mixture in the center of each rectangle. Fold the pastry over the filling, sealing the edges by pinching them tight.
  4. Place the twists onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush each pastry with the beaten egg to achieve that gorgeous golden hue and shiny finish.
  5. Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the twists are puffed and golden brown.
  6. Once out of the oven, let your delicious twists cool for a few minutes on a wire rack.

Notes

Pairs beautifully with marinara sauce or a fresh garden salad. Can be frozen before baking for later use.
