Light, fluffy, and packed with protein, these air fryer bagels are a quick and delicious breakfast or snack option.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cottage cheese (2% or 4%)
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • Toppings: everything seasoning, poppy seeds, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dry Ingredients: Add the flour to a medium bowl and combine it with the baking powder. Add a pinch of salt for extra flavor if desired.
  2. Create the Dough Base: Make a well in the center of the flour mix and add the cottage cheese. Using a fork or small rubber spatula, mix the dough until it begins to form a chunky texture.
  3. Knead the Dough: Turn the bagel dough onto a well-floured surface. Knead with your hands for 1-2 minutes until it forms a semi-smooth ball of dough.
  4. Form the Bagels: Divide the dough into 4 equal sections. Roll each section into a 6-7 inch log, about 3/4 inch thick. Connect the ends of each log to form the bagels.
  5. Egg Wash for a Golden Finish: Crack and whisk the egg in a small bowl, then brush it lightly over each bagel. Add your selected toppings.
  6. Air Fry the Bagels: Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C). Place the bagels in an even layer in the fryer basket and cook for 15-17 minutes until golden, adjusting as necessary.
  7. Cool Before Slicing: Remove the bagels and let them cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
