A comforting and flavorful dish featuring tender beef coated in a savory sauce and vibrant broccoli, all made easy in a slow cooker.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pounds boneless beef chuck roast, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 heads broccoli, cut into florets

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic until combined.
  2. Place the thinly sliced beef into a 6-quart slow cooker and pour the sauce over it, gently tossing to coat.
  3. While it’s cooking, whisk together 1/4 cup of water and the cornstarch in a small bowl.
  4. After 90 minutes, stir the cornstarch mixture and broccoli into the slow cooker, mixing until incorporated.
  5. Once the slow cooker beeps, serve the tender beef, sauce, and broccoli on plates.

Notes

For best results, slice the beef thinly against the grain and feel free to add red pepper flakes for extra heat.
