This Slow Cooker Pulled Pork recipe combines simple ingredients with minimal prep time to create a delicious centerpiece for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Buns for serving

Instructions

  1. Start by placing the chopped onion and minced garlic in the bottom of your slow cooker. They’ll add fragrant layers of flavor as the pork cooks.
  2. Rub the pork shoulder generously with paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the chicken broth and barbecue sauce over the pork.
  4. Set your slow cooker to low and let it work its magic for about 8 hours, or for a quicker meal, set it to high for 4 hours.
  5. Once the cooking time is up, carefully remove the pork from the slow cooker.
  6. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker, mixing it well with the remaining sauce.
  7. Serve by scooping the pulled pork onto your favorite buns and drizzling with extra barbecue sauce if desired.
