  • 4 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Place the pork shoulder into your slow cooker.
  2. Combine the barbecue sauce, sliced onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the pork shoulder, ensuring it’s well coated.
  4. Add the chicken broth to the slow cooker.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-6 hours.
  6. Remove the pork and shred it with two forks.
  7. Mix the shredded pork with the sauce in the slow cooker and serve.

Notes

Pairs beautifully with coleslaw, pickles, and potato salad. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
