A delightful bowl of Spicy Bang Bang Turkey & Rice that combines savory turkey with a kick of spicy sauce and comforting rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water and combine it with water in a pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the water is fully absorbed.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and the onions are translucent.
  4. Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it into small pieces. Cook until browned all over with no pink remaining.
  5. Stir in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, 1 tablespoon of sriracha, and 1 tablespoon of honey. Let it simmer for 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, remaining 1 tablespoon of sriracha, and remaining tablespoon of honey to create the Bang Bang sauce.
  7. Once the rice is cooked, divide it among bowls. Top with the spicy turkey mixture.
  8. Drizzle the Bang Bang sauce over the turkey mixture. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
