A vibrant and wholesome dish bringing together tender steak and succulent shrimp tossed with crisp vegetables and a garlicky sesame sauce, ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 pound steak, sliced thin
  • 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips, season with salt and pepper, and set aside.
  2. Peel, devein, and pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  4. Heat a tablespoon of oil over high heat and sear the steak strips for 1-2 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the pan.
  5. Add the shrimp to the hot oil and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and slightly curled. Transfer to the plate with the steak.
  6. In the same pan, add the sliced onion and bell peppers, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until just tender.
  7. Add the snap peas and continue cooking for an additional minute.
  8. Return the steak and shrimp to the pan with the vegetables and pour the prepared sauce over the top.
  9. Toss everything together until well coated and heated through for about 2 more minutes.
  10. Plate the stir-fry and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

Notes

For best results, chop vegetables and prepare the sauce ahead of time. Serve with jasmine rice or sesame noodles.
