Delicious homemade honey buns that are soft, fluffy, and sweet, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup honey (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk.
  2. Combine the warm milk, sugar, honey, melted butter, and egg in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix in the flour, yeast, and salt.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the risen dough, roll it out, and cut into squares.
  7. Cover the rolled balls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the buns for 25 minutes.
  9. Drizzle with extra honey after cooling for about 10 minutes.

Notes
